During the Artificial Intelligence and Information Science Graduation Challenge a talented bachelor student from University of Amsterdam works on your business AI and/or information science project.
Description
Let talented Artificial Intelligence students from the University of Amsterdam solve your AI challenges (Apr-Jun). This 'Graduation Project' is the last phase of the Bachelor AI and Information Science. The assigned student(s) will work three months on a predefined problem that is relevant for your company, which has a clear research question for the field of AI. It's an individual assignment and they will work on average 200 hours (per person) on this challenge.
Challenge topics
Although the topics should be related to Artificial Intelligence, the challenge can be related to any domain/industry. Artificial Intelligence is a complementary field. As defining a realistic challenge based on available data can be challenging, we will help you translate your input into a realistic challenge. Feel free to schedule a call on this website.
Company requirements
- Any company (startup/scale-up/corporate/incubator/NGO) with at least two founders/employees working full time in the company.
- Available dataset that can be used in beginning of November.
- In business for at least 6 months.
Costs
To help facilitate this challenge a small fee of €1200,- (ex tax) per student applies.
PLEASE NOTE: You will only be charged when matched to a student.
Guidance from the UvA
- Students are expected to attend (online) 4/5 start-up meetings with their supervisor from the UvA
- Students have 2 tutorials (online) and 1x personal feedback for Academic English (online)
- Students hand in a mid-term presentation to show their progress.
- An academic supervisor provides feedback and guidance from the academic side.
- Grading the assignment is done by the UvA.
Guidance from your organization
Organizations are expected to appoint a key contact person that invests between 16-24 hours (e.g., joining meetings, providing information, answering questions).
Planning
- October 24: Deadline to submit a challenge (we might be ‘sold out’ before this date)
- Nov 3-Nov 7: Matching phase
- Nov 10-Jan 28: Work on solving the challenge.
