People-centred insights tailored to your needs by anthropology students
Are you providing goods or services to people and want to know how you can better connect with them? Would you like to improve the motivation of your own staff but don't know how? Anthropology students can help you!
Description
Our students spend one academic year (Sep-Jun) designing and undertaking a unique research that could provide you with the insights you are looking for. Anthropology students are trained to do ethnography, a time-consuming research approach that offers insights into people's everyday experiences and practices by spending time with them in their own environments: work, school, neighbourhood, etc. Because of its in-depth and qualitative character, ethnography also allows discovering things that other research methods usually miss.
Examples of projects conducted by our students include:
- for an organisation promoting playgroups as a means to promote social integration, knowledge about the specific needs of immigrant families with young children.
- for an organisation reaching out to drug users, insight into how LGBTQI engage with chemsex.
- for hospitals struggling with staff motivation and burnout, research into how different professional roles collaborate with each other.
- for midwives wanting to promote the importance of the work they do, insights into the support they provide to women and how it is experienced by those in their care.
If you choose to work with us, you will collaborate with students enrolled in the “professional anthropology” Master’s track. You will be paired with one (or a small group of max three students), who will collaborate with you to research an urgent issue proposed by you and that is relevant for your own professional practice. From the research findings on your case you gain unique insights and a fit-for-practice product.
